Bitty Bee Happy Dress and Bonnet Set
I think I have said before that making doll clothes is my favorite. I started making doll clothes when my daughter was about 5 or 6 years old. Her name is Brittany and we called her Bitty when she was little. Somehow I got an American Girl catalog in the mail and discovered Bitty Baby. I told my husband that she had have that doll and she asked Santa to bring one for Christmas. Blond hair and gray eyes. I went to work making clothes for her. She saw me sewing and asked me what they were for and I told her they were for her cousin for Christmas. I filled a large hat box with those clothes. Christmas morning Santa had brought Bitty and then she opened that box of clothes and said "These aren't for me. These are for my cousin." It was so cute. But I was hooked on making those sweet little clothes. Her Bitty had the biggest wardrobe for a 15" doll!
Today I spend a lot of time making clothes for the 18" dolls like American Girl. But I still love to make Bitty Baby clothes. This is my second dress from the Bitty Bee collection made from a pattern from Pixie Faire. The dress is a sweet floral print with bright pink, blue and yellow flowers. It closes in the back with hook and loop tape. The collar has tiny bees on a white background and is trimmed with yellow rick rack. In the middle of the collar is cute little button that says "Bee Happy." The bonnet, bloomers and booties match the collar. Ribbons on the bonnet in yellow polka dot tie under the chin and have little bee buttons where they attach to the bonnet. The booties have elastic around the ankle and are decorated with the same polka dot ribbon with a pink flower button in the center. Because of the choking hazard from the decorative buttons, this set is not recommended for children under 5 years of age, and would be great for a collector!
The listing is only for the dress, bonnet, bloomers and booties and does not include the doll.
